Cars seized by police have been left to rot in front of the Tejgaon Industrial Police Station, blocking a substantial portion of the road as well as the footpath. As a result, vehicles are forced to move slowly. The prevailing situation is also hampering movement of pedestrians. Meanwhile, the bed of a seized truck has been turned into a waste dumping spot. The photo was taken from Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Avenue on Tuesday. Photo: Palash Khan
A girl is all smiles as she watches a latim (spinning top) spin on her palm. Playing latim used to be one of the most loved traditional games. But with time, many such vivid elements of the country's folk culture are disappearing. Traditional latims are made of wood with a thick pin stuck through the centre. A string is twisted around its axis that causes a rapid unwinding when pulled quickly -- setting the top in motion. The photo was taken at Begunbari in Tejgaon industrial area recently.
