During winter when water bodies usually dry up, people fishing in large numbers becomes a common scenario in the countryside. While some hand-gather or noodle in soggy mud, especially for catfish, others use different types of nets. At Chapra Beel in Tangail's Sakhipur, locals installed lift nets along this shallow channel. The skeleton of a burnt bus in Sholoshahar area of Chittagong city yesterday. People torched the vehicle after it hit a bicycle rider, leaving him seriously injured. The rider, whose identity was not known immediately, was hospitalised in a critical condition. Soon after the accident, an angry mob set it on fire. Later firefighters doused the blaze.
