WARNING NOT WORKING

Motorcyclists ride on a footpath in the capital's Kakrail area yesterday. Right, bikers and car drivers use the pavement of Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue as their parking lot, forcing pedestrians onto the street. It seems everybody is in a hurry. Nobody will follow the lane or let others pass. Experts said many motorcyclists have little respect for traffic rules as they are hardly booked and penalised for committing offences. The High Court on March 6, 2012, issued an order on the government to stop such practices. But it appears things have not changed much. Photo: Prabir Das, Palash Khan
