WINGED BALLET ... A red-wattled lapwing, popularly known as “hottiti”, flying gracefully above the Mirpur stadium in the capital. Mostly found in the southern parts of Bangladesh, the bird is easily distinguishable by the bright red patch around its eyes and beak, forming a mask-like shape. But its most striking feature is its call, which sounds like a loud “did-you-do-it?”. In the west, it is sometimes referred to as the “did-you-do-it bird”. PHOTO: FIROZ AHMED
