Diksher Beel, one of the biggest water bodies in Pabna’s Chatmohor upazila, is a spectacle to behold this monsoon. Despite low water levels compared to other years, the entire beel is adorned with hundreds of about-to-bloom lotus flowers, water lilies, and more. The plants cover the water as far as the eyes can see and this is why the locals lovingly call the waterbody “Poddo (lotus) Beel”. While the Poddo Beel can be a great attraction for tourists, the lack of preservation and dilapidated roads leading to the water body have become apparent obstacles. PHOTO: Ahmed Humayun Kabir Topu
