Fishers say they are not getting good catches this year compared to previous years. The national fish was selling for Tk 15,000 to Tk 60,000 per maund depending on size.

To make room for the Dhaka Elevated Expressway, this part of Hatirjheel has been filled up near the Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel.
