After one and a half years of closure due to construction work of the Dhaka Elevated Expressway, the Farmgate footbridge will be inaugurated today. Being the first of its kind, the bridge, designed in the pattern of the parliament building, was built at a cost of Tk 20 crore. It will have escalators and lifts at both ends for pedestrians. Bumper-to-bumper traffic on the ground and on the flyover in Kuril Biswa Road area yesterday afternoon. The tailback went up to the 300 Feet Road as well. Many city dwellers were stuck in jams for hours in the capital due to multiple political events.
