A tractor trailer, locally made with a power tiller, illegally plying the Chuknagar intersection on the Khulna-Satkhira highway in Khulna’s Dumuria upazila yesterday. Such vehicles, primarily used to transport bricks or sand, are often the cause of accidents on the highway.

Buildings have been built partly encroaching on the Trimohoni canal in the capital’s Khilgaon. Homeowners have also set up bamboo-made bridges over the canal so they can access the road on the other side of the water body. The photo was taken yesterday.
