Low water levels in the Sangu river force boats to navigate cautiously through the Raja Pathor (Boro Pathor) area of Tindu in Bandarban. Residents of Thanchi, Remakri, and Bormodak, who rely on river transport, are suffering as a result. One of the major reasons behind this is increasing deforestation and the illegal extraction of stones from streams that feed the river.
