After submerging a dinghy full of Bashphul paddy in the river for four days, farmers pull the paddy out of the water to dry it in the sun for two more days. Bashphul paddy is processed into a narrow variety of rice, each maund of which is sold by these farmers for around Tk 3,000. The photo was taken last week in Banaripara upazila of Barishal.
