The bakharkhani types!
The humble bakharkhani rules over our gastronomic minds. In the alleyways and street side bakeries of Dhaka, particularly Puran Dhaka, the sights of bakharkhani stacked up high or the baking process never fail to entice us.
Bakharkhani in Dhaka mainly comes in three flavours. Perhaps, the most popular is the classic one. There is also a sweet twist to the classic bakharkhani, which is sometimes slightly harder in texture.
Meanwhile, elevating the taste to a whole different level is the poneer bakharkhani. It combines two of the most popular foods in the capital: bakharkhani and poneer! When served fresh out of the tandoor, the cheesy bites just melt in your mouth!
No matter what kind of bakharkhani you like the most, it is arguably the most loved "bread" in our city, often enjoyed with a cup of tea.
