Army to join regional peace keeping exercise in Nepal
An Infantry Platoon of the Bangladesh Army led by Lt Colonel Chowdhury Hassan Sarwardy, Bir Bikram left Dhaka for Nepal to take part in the Regional Peace Keeping Exercise to be held in Nepal from 17-31 January, says an ISPR press release.
The Royal Nepalese Army will host the event sponsored by the US Army under the patronisation of the United Nation's Department of Peace Keeping Operations.
The US, Nepal and Sri Lanka will also take part in the exercise.
Fourteen other countries including Bhutan, Maldives, Mongolia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, UK, Canada, Thailand, Japan, New Zealand and Russia will send observers to the event.
Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Muhammad Mustafizur Rahman, Bir Bikram will attended the closing ceremony of the exercise to be held on January 31.
