Nusraat Faria made her mark as a television presenter before making the leap into films. Today, her reputation reaches beyond borders, as she is also one of the most beloved female leads in Tollywood as well. In an exclusive interview with The Daily Star, the diva talks about her current projects, Eid plans and more.

You are working with Shakib Khan for the first time, how has excited are you?

Shakib Khan is one of the biggest film stars in our country, and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to work with him. But I also hope to stand out on my own and play my role to its full potential.

When will the filming start?

There will be a muharat on August 27, and after that we will hit the sets for filming. The film is titled Shahenshah, and right now, I'm just preparing for my part.

Where do you plan to celebrate Eid?

Usually I spend celebrate it in Dhaka, but things look a little uncertain now. I might end up spending the break in Dhaka, Bangkok or Kolkata.

Do you have any performances or television appearances lined up for Eid?

There is one stage show in Kolkata that I'll have to appear in, and that will take place on the second day of Eid. There will be many celebrities attending that, so I am looking forward to performing at the event.

Are there any fond Eid-ul-Adha memories you'd like to share?

There are far too many, and it has always been such a festive time for me and my family. Both my grandparents' homes are in Comilla, and I used to observe how they would buy their cows together. I was lucky enough to have the best of both worlds then!

What further plans do you have regarding your career?

I am already where I have always wanted to be, but I'd like to keep coming across opportunities to act in compelling films, irrespective of which industry that film is from.
