India to evacuate citizens of Nepal and Sri Lanka from Iran

India has decided to evacuate all citizens of Nepal and Sri Lanka from war-hit Iran following a request from the two South Asian countries.
The Indian Embassy in Tehran said in a post on its official X handle that "On request of the Governments of Nepal and Sri Lanka, the Indian Embassy's evacuation efforts in Iran will also cover citizens of Nepal and Sri Lanka."
It asked the citizens of Nepal and Sri Lanka to urgently reach out to the Indian Embassy either on the Telegram channel or via the emergency contact numbers.
India is currently evacuating all Indian nationals in Iran.
Meanwhile, Ministry of External Affairs spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on his official X account that a total of 1,117 Indian nationals have been evacuated from Iran.
In the latest round of evacuation, a group of 290 Indian nationals returned home safely from Iran on a special flight from Mashhad that landed in New Delhi on June 21.
