Prophet remarks: Kolkata cops issue look-out notice for Nupur Sharma
The Kolkata Police today issued a look-out notice for suspended BJP activist Nupur Sharma after she failed to appear before its investigators for the fourth time in a row over her controversial remarks about Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that triggered an outrage.
A senior officer said Sharma had skipped the summons issued by officers of Amherst Street and Narkeldanga police stations in central Kolkata, reports our New Delhi correspondent.
"A look-out notice has been issued today after she failed to appear before our officers despite being summoned several times," the police officer said.
Sharma was summoned separately by Amherst Street and Narkeldanga police stations in central Kolkata after FIRs were lodged against her last month, the officer added.
Sharma had cited apprehensions of a possible assault on her if she visited Kolkata and sought four weeks' time to appear before the police officers.
