2 students die in Pabna road accident

Two students died, and one other was injured in a road accident in Santhia upazila of Pabna early today.

The deceased were identified as Rubel Hossain, a 2nd-year student of Pabna Edward College and Md Juboraj, who just passed his SSC exam, reports our local correspondent quoting officer-in-charge of Santhia Police Station Md Rafikul Islam.

Quoting locals and eyewitnesses, the OC said that the accident took place late last night when the three were returning to Santhia on a motorcyle.

At Boalmari Bazar area, the rider crashed into a pile of logs placed on the side of the road.

Police and locals rescued the three students from the spot and took them to Pabna General Hospital. Rubel and Juboraj died in the hospital early today, said the OC.

The other student was transferred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital this morning for better treatment, the OC said, adding that no case has been filed in this regard.
