At least five people were injured during a clash between police and members of Bihari community in Sadar upazila of Narayanganj today.

The clash occurred following the arrest of 31 people from Adamji Bihari Camp during an anti-drug raid early today (June 13, 2022), our Narayanganj correspondent reports.

The clash ensued when camp residents gathered in front of the Siddhirganj Police Station on Shimrail-Adamji-Chashara Road around 7:00am, demanding release of fellow camp dwellers.

According to witnesses, police at first tried to negotiate with them and assured them that they would release the detainees if they are found innocent. But the demonstrators again demanded release of their fellows and at one stage police started to charge batons to disperse the members of Bihari community.
