Motorcyclist shot dead, another injured in Rangamati

Miscreants shot a motorcyclist dead and injured another at Sajek in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati this morning.

The deceased was identified as Sukhen Chakma, 20, of Midpoint village in the upazila, our Rangamati correspondent reports quoting police.

Injured Sajib Chakma was taken to nearby Dighinala Upazila Health Complex of Khagrachhari district.

According to locals, Sukhen and Sajib were going to Daripara from Midpoint on their motorcycles around 8:30am.

When they went half a kilometer away from Midpoint, a group of miscreants intercepted their motorcycles and opened fire, leaving both of them critically injured.

Sukhen succumbed to his injuries on way to a local hospital, local said.

Confirming the incident, Officer-in-charge of Sajek Police Station Md Nurul Alam said police and Border Guard Bangladesh members have already started for the spot, he added.
