Around 52% votes cast in Cumilla city election: Returning officer

Around 52 percent votes were cast in Cumilla City Corporation election, Returning Officer Shahedunnabi Chowdhury said this afternoon.

While talking to The Daily Star, he said that using their own mechanism they calculated that voter turnout was 52 percent till 3:00pm.

Expressing satisfaction that the voting was peaceful, the RO said no untoward incident happened on this election day. Voter turnout would be more if there were no rain, he added.
