BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia visited the US embassy in Dhaka this afternoon to complete her visa application process by providing fingerprints.

The BNP chief left her Gulshan office around 2:25pm and returned home around 3:50pm, BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan told The Daily Star.

Party insiders said that all necessary arrangements have been made to send the 79-year-old former prime minister abroad for specialised treatment.

According to BNP sources, Khaleda is expected to travel to the United Kingdom early next month. From there, she may seek advanced medical care in either the United States or Germany.

Khaleda has been battling multiple serious health issues, including liver cirrhosis, heart, lung, kidney, and eye problems.
