Shat Gombuj Mosque to host main Eid Jamaat in Bagerhat
The main Eid jamaat in Bagerhat will be held at the historic Shat Gombuj Mosque.
To accommodate the large number of people, three Eid jamaats will be held at the 15th century mosque. The first jamaat will be held at 7:30 am while the second one at 8:15 am and the last at 9 am, reports our Bagerhat correspondent quoting Khandaker Mohammad Rizaul Karim, additional deputy commissioner of Bagerhat district.
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, principal of Bagerhat Alia (Kamil) Madrasa will lead the first jamaat at the mosque while the second one will be conducted by Maulana Helal Uddin, imam and khatib of the mosque, and the last jamaat will be conducted by Maulana Mozahidul Islam of Singair Jaame Mosque in Bagerhat.
A good number of law enforcers will be deployed at the mosque – a Unesco World Heritage Site – to ensure the safety of the congregations.
ADC Khandaker said the Eid-ul-Fitr congregations will be held following health guidelines.
