Nothing removed or added in textbooks on religion: Dipu Moni

Sating that misinformation is being spread over textbook changes, Education Minister Dipu Moni today (July 23, 2022) said that the government has not removed or added any religious topics from textbooks.

"Nothing (topics) has been removed or added in textbooks on religion, what is being said is completely false," she said.

The education minister was talking to journalists at Chandpur Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium after she attended a cheque distribution ceremony among the families affected by river erosion, reports a correspondent from Chandpur.

"A large part of the BNP-Jamaat Shibir men is doing these (spreading false information) through social media from abroad," she said.

The minister said that they want to mislead people in the name of religion and destabilise the country ahead of the next general election. They are spreading the video of an MP giving misinformation in the parliament.

She urged people to be aware of these confusions.

"If someone gives false information, we will demand action against them under Cyber Security Act."
