Dhaka's rail link with other parts suspended as workers block tracks at Karwan Bazar
A section of temporary workers under the Bangladesh Railway has blocked the rail line near Karwan Bazar in the capital, leaving the rail communication of Dhaka with other parts of the country suspended.
The workers blocked the rail lines around 10:00am.
Md Ferdous, officer in charge of Kamalapur Railway Police Station, confirmed news of the disruption to The Daily Star from the spot at 11:45am.
The workers were demanding to be made permanent employees, and protesting outsourcing of jobs.
