Helper was driving the bus that hit home minister’s car
The helper was driving the reckless bus that hit the car of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area last night amid the ongoing Traffic Week.
In initial interrogation, the helper of the bus, Manik, confessed to being on the driving seat when the incident happened, Inspector Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, told The Daily Star.

The driver Ibrahim Khalil Imon was tired after driving the bus for the whole day so he handed the steering over to the helper to take rest beside the driving seat, another source of the police station said quoting the driver.
The police have sent the helper and driver of the bus to court with a seven-day remand prayer.
The Motijheel-bound bus of New Vision Paribahan hit the car of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan from behind after overtaking one of his security vehicles on Mirpur road at College Gate area around 9:00pm yesterday.
The minister escaped injuries in the accident while his car was damaged slightly.
