Student Protest: 3 more students get bail

Three more students involved with the recent student protest have been given bail in cases filed with different police stations in Dhaka.

With the latest bail order, a total of 21 students out of 22 were granted bail.

Metropolitan Magistrate AKM Mainuddin Siddiki today passed the bail to Risalatul Ferdous, student of East West University,  Saber Ahmed Ullash of Uttara Asian University and Aminul Ehsan Baizid of Turag IUBAT.

Meanwhile, no bail petition was submitted with the court yet for Md Baizid, student of East West University.

Cases against Md Baizid and Risalatul Ferdous were filed with Badda Police Station.

While, cases against Saber Ahmed Ullash and Aminul Ehsan Baizid were filed with Bhatara Police Station.

Mirza Shahina, a widow from Tangail, expressed her happiness after her son Saber Ahmed Ullash got bail.

Ullash, is a third semester student of marketing department of Asian University.

"I'm grateful to the court for granting him bail," said Shahina adding she passed sleepless night as her only son was behind the bar.

Like her many anxious guardians were gathered on the corridor of 8th floor of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Dhaka.

Zillur Rahman, father of Ferdous also thanked the court for his son's bail.

At a human chain in Dhaka on August 17, the family members of the student who had been arrested in connection to quota reform and road safety movements urged the government to release them before the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
