Three more people were killed after a head-on collision between a bus and a human haulier on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Belabo upazila of Narsingdi district taking the death toll to 11 in the road crash.

The deceased were identified as Abul Hossain, 55, Abdul Mia, 24 and Mobarak Hossain, 28, Sujon, 30, and his 24-year-old unidentified wife and Oliur Rahman, 28, the driver of the human haulier, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent quoting officer-in-charge of Belabo Police Station Javed Mahmud.

Identities of the other deceased could not be known yet.

The incident took place in the upazila’s Noyakandi area around 8:30pm yesterday, the official said. The Mohakhali-bound bus of ‘Dhaka Boss Paribahan’ from Bhairab collided with the three-wheeler, leaving eight people dead on the spot and 11 others critically injured, the official said.

Belabo Upazila Nirbahi Officer Umme Habiba told The Daily Star that the families of the deceased will be given Tk 20,000 on behalf of the district administration.
