Natore crash: Bus driver remanded, helper bailed
The bus driver involved in the deadly Natore crash was remanded today and his helper bailed in connection to the case filed over the crash.
Tarikul Islam, a sub-inspector of Banpara highway police and the investigation officer (IO), produced the duo before court and sought them in five-day remand.
Natore Senior Judicial Magistrate Sultan Mahmud granted police to take in driver Shamin Hossain for one-day remand. But, it gave bail to helper Abdus Samad.
Back on August 25, the deadly crash between the Challenger Paribahan bus and a human haulier left 15 people dead and 20 injured during the Eid holidays.
Highway police sued seven people including drivers and helpers of both the vehicles, owner of the human haulier, and Leguna owners’ association’s president.
A probe committee formed into the incident blamed drivers of both the vehicles for the crash and said they were driving recklessly on the highway.
