Dr David Carter new British HC to Bangladesh
Newly appointed British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dr David Carter, CVO, arrives in the city on January 19 to take over his new assignment, reports UNB.
David Carter replaces David Walker, CMG, CVO, who leaves Dhaka on retirement on January 7 serving for three years in Bangladesh.
Dr Carter comes to Dhaka just having finished a posting in New Delhi where he was minister and Deputy Head of Mission from 1996, said a British High Commission press release in the city yesterday.
He joined the British Diplomatic Service in 1970 and has served in Ghana, the Philippines, Zambia, South Africa and latterly India, together with a number of UK postings with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London.
He is married with one son and one daughter, and his areas of interest include travelling, music, reading and walking.
Dr Carter has a BA Jt Hons from the University of Wales and a PhD from Durham University.
