Chittagong Metropolitan Police this evening deployed additional law enforcers in the strategic points of the city to avert any untoward incidents.
The move was taken as activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir torched three vehicles including an ambulance in the city

The strategic points include Shah Amanat International Airport and state-owned fuel depots - Padma, Meghna and Jamuna, the official added.
The Supreme Court today dismissed a review petition filed by Jamaat leader Mollah and cleared the way for his execution. The SC on September 17 awarded him death sentence for his crimes against humanity during the country’s Liberation War in 1971.
In the city, the Jamaat-Shibir men blasted cocktails targeting a procession brought out by Awami League at Amborkillah around 1:15pm, reports our Chittagong correspondent.
Meanwhile in Satkania upazila, the activists of Jamaat-Shibir also clashed with police and blocked Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway by felling logs at different spots.
They vandalised several auto-rickshaws on the highway during the clash.
Meanwhile in Sitakunda, Shibir activists torched a covered van and a truck on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Faujdarhat area around 3:30pm.
None was injured in these incidents, reports our correspondent.
