Mousumi Hamid signs two new films
Lux Superstar contestant Mousumi Hamid has been busy with television and films for a while. The actress recently geared up for two new projects for silver screen. The films are— "Noya Manush" and "Japito Jibon". She has already returned from shooting for "Noya Manush" in Noakhali's 'char' area. Now her schedule is locked for shooting for another project "Japito Jibon" in Rajbari.
The actress is an avid fan of Argentina, and is excited about the upcoming match. In conversation with The Daily Star, she shared about her works, favorite football team, and more.
Tell us about 'Japito Jibon', based on noted author Selina Hossain's novel of the same name.
It is a government granted film, directed by Habibul Islam Habib. The film is being translated from a very popular novel. I am playing Sumona in this project, and I will be sharing the screen with Rawnak Hasan.
What about your other film, 'Noya Manush'?
We still have some portions left to shoot, which we plan to begin from December. The film revolves around the people living in 'char' area. I will be seen as Shujola in this film, who is a victim of river erosion, who is left with no option than to migrate from her place.
Is there any memory from this film, which you will always remember?
There are a lot, actually. I will always remember the hospitality of the people of Noakhali 'char' area. They used to bring different kinds of food for me every day. Also, they were really welcoming and after returning, I am missing them.
Today, your favourite football team Argentina will be playing against Poland. What are you expecting?
I am really worried at the moment, and excited too. I will definitely watch the match today, and hope that they win. A lot of people are supporting the team, they have all our best wishes tonight!
Any particular reason for supporting Argentina?
I really admire Maradona and Messi. Especially Messi's personality, and it attracts me a lot. Since childhood I have always heard about Maradona, my love from the team have imprinted from then.
