UN Peace Messenger Dr Jane visits Bangladesh

One of the World's greatest living conservationist and UN Messen-ger of Peace Dr. Jane Goodall is currently visiting Bangladesh to work with Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS) and Grameen Bank.

During her stay she will add-ress a public lecture on "Environ-mental Conservation: Looking Through the Window." She will focus her discussion on environ-mental conservation, awareness and importance of our relation-ship with other inhabitants.

The public lecture, jointly organised by BCAS and Grameen Bank, will be held at the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMA) Bhaban auditorium at 10:00 am today.

Professor Mohammed Yunus, managing director, Grameen Bank and Dr Atiq A Rahman, executive director of BCAS will address the lecture.

Dr Jane Goodall is working as UN Messenger of Peace all over the world. She earned her PhD in Ethology from the Cambridge University and founded the Jane Goodall Institute for Wildlife Research, Education and Conservation to improve the environment of all living things.

She is world-renowned and highly respected in both the scientific and lay communities.

In recognition of outstanding contribution in research, education and activism on environmental conservation she is the international recipient of numerous awards and the author of many publications.

An eminent international communicator and global TV personality is currently serving as National Geographic Society Explorer-in-Residence.

Recently HM Queen Elizabeth II awarded her the CBE. She is a familiar face in many TV programmes worldwide.
