Airposted: A new P2P platform for shipping products from abroad
Shipping in products from abroad has been a fairly common practice amongst many people in the country now. Seeing the demand and understanding the importance of reliable service, a new startup called Airposted has emerged to serve as a platform to connect shoppers with travelers. According to Rayan Rahman and Iqbal Anwar, the co-founders of this startup, Airposted is Bangladesh's first 'true' peer to peer shipping and logistics platform that aims to change the way people ship, travel and shop by providing affordable, fast, secure and hassle-free shipping.
Shoppers can order anything from the US and avail the best deals and prices, while getting them delivered to their homes at the most affordable shipping prices. Airposted charges a small percent of product cost for shipping. The shipping cost is significantly less than Fedex or DHL.
If you are a traveler, Airposted provides an income opportunity if you are traveling between USA and Bangladesh. Anwar mentioned, travelers can utilise unused space in their luggage to carry goods and earn money. Travelers can register at www.airposted.com with travel detail. They can decide which products they prefer carrying. An Airposted employee from NY office will contact them and walk them through the process. Airposted only engages in legal consumer products. If the traveler needs to pay any tax on Airposted goods, Airposted will reimburse it upon receiving the receipt. It generally takes two to three weeks to deliver a product, but in most cases, Airposted delivers within a week or so. With the deployment of both iOS and Android app, Airposted is looking to increase its user base and traction in USA, India and Bangladesh. By 2020 these two entrepreneurs want to expand their services in other countries targeting the growing South-Asian economy.
