Boy killed in Lalbagh bomb blast
A minor boy was killed and his elder sister sustained splinter injures as a bomb exploded inside their house at Lalbagh, old part of Dhaka this afternoon.
Deceased’s [Miraj, 7] father Yaqub Ali is a resident of Lalbagh, said Sentu Dash Biswas, assistant sub-inspector at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp.
A group of miscreants hurled a bomb at my tin-shed house around 4:30pm, leaving my son Miraj and daughter Neha, 10, critically wounded with splinter injuries, victim’s father Yaqub Ali told journalist at the DMCH.
Miraj succumbed to injuries, while his sister is now undergoing treatment at the DMCH.
On information, police rushed to the spot but failed to find out any reason behind the explosion, Deputy Commissioner Mofiz Uddin Ahmed of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Lalbagh) told The Daily Star.
