C-in-C of US Pacific Command arrives today

Admiral Dennis C Blair, Commander-in-Chief of the US Pacific Command, will arrive in the city today on a two-day visit, reports UNB.

While in Dhaka, Blair will meet President Shahabuddin Ahmed, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Foreign Minister Abdus Samad Azad and all the service chiefs of Bangladesh Armed Forces.

The purpose of his visit is to discuss the existing good military-to-military relations between the US and Bangladesh, said a USIS press release in the city yesterday.

He will be accompanied by several members of his staff and his wife. He will leave Dhaka on Friday.
