DU, Korean university sign MOU

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the University of Dhaka and the Chonbuk National University (CNU) of Korea was signed yesterday at the residence of Vice Chancellor.

Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof AK Azad Chowdhury and Vice President of CNU Prof Byoung Sil Chon signed the MOU on behalf of their respective institutions. The president of the CNU Prof Cheol Soon Shin will also sign it later on, a press release said.

The purpose of the MOU is to develop academic programme and co-operation in teaching and research through exchange of academic staff and students, academic materials and other information, participation in seminars and academic meetings and undertaking research activities, the release added.

During the meeting they also discussed matters of mutual academic interest.

Among others, Professor of the Department of Pediatrics Dr Chan Uhng Joo, Professor of the Department of Landscape Architecture Dr Sei Cheon Kim of CNU and director general of Korean Development Association in Bangladesh Soon Ho Chang were also present during the programme.
