Wolpert calls on Speaker
Renowned US historian Dr Stanley A Wolpert yesterday called on Speaker Humayun Rasheed Chowdhury at his residence as a part of collecting information for his book "Bangabandhu and Contemporary history of Bangladesh", reports UNB.
Wolpert, Professor of South Asian History in the University of California and also an expert on South Asia, is going to write a book on the title and asked the Speaker about the memorable works and experiences with the founding father of Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The Speaker thanked the American author for taking such noble initiative and explained different experiences, which he observed in fifty's sixty's with the great leader at home and abroad.
Wolpert was very happy to learn the unknown activities of the great leader and gave a patient hearing and also recorded the answers of the Speaker for using in his work, according to a press release.
It may be mentioned that Wolpert is a well-known author of over a dozen of books on politics and life sketches of great statesman.
