Anwar new envoy to Morocco
The government has decided to appoint Major General Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Bir Protik (BP), PSC as Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Kingdom of Morocco, an official handout said yesterday, reports BSS.
A valiant freedom fighter, General Anwar was General Officer Commanding in the Infantry Division before his new assignment.
He was commissioned in the then Pakistan Army in 1968. He participated in the country's Liberation War and received the Bir Protik award.
He held various command and staff appointments including commandant, School of Infantry and Tactics, deputy director general of Bangladesh Rifles, defence attache in China, General officer commanding of 33 Infantry Division and chief of the general staff of Bangladesh Army.
