No consensus yet in Indo-Bangla talks
Talks between Bangladesh and India on major bilateral issues, some of them longstanding irritants, entered their second day yesterday, but negotiations failed to reach a consensus, reports UNB.
The differences that cropped during the session compelled the Joint Working Committee to extend their meeting by a day, sources said.
Officials said the two sides will meet this morning to wrap-up the talks.
If they can reach a consensus the two sides are expected agree to the minutes of the meeting. Bangladesh and India officials talked for over three and a half hours at the State Guesthouse Padma last night. They exchanged drafts of the minutes, which they reviewed and revised.
Sources said the minutes will cover major issues, such as border disputes, women and children trafficking, illegal arms, ammunition and drugs, visas and joint security measures.
