Japan keen to set up specialised hospital

Japan has shown keen interest in providing higher training to the physicians and setting up specialised hospital at private level in Bangladesh.

A delegation headed by former vice-minister of Japan and Chairman of Bangladesh-Japan Friendship Association Dr Torao Tokuda expressed the interest during a meeting with Health Minister Dr Khondaker Mosharraf Hossain in the city yesterday.

Exchanging views with the delegation, the health minister said the government would extend allout cooperation to the foreign investors in setting up hospitals of international standard.

He said investment policy has been liberalised in the country to encourage foreign investment and Japan has a huge scope to further invest in health sector in Bangladesh, said an official handout.

BMA secretary general Dr AZM Zahid Hossain and delegation members Dr Suzuki, Dr Daijo Hashimoto, Dr Ylogo, Dr Sa Ylayeen, Dr Faisal Muazzam, Dr Harun-al-Rashid and Dr Zonayed Shafique were present at the meeting.
