Danish embassy's donation for cold-hit people

The Danish Embassy yesterday donated Tk 2.4 million to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) to purchase blankets for distribution among the cold-hit people of the country.

During the last three weeks, the BDRCS has distributed blankets, warm clothes and high protein biscuits donated by the Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC) among 15,000 families in the northern districts.

The BDRCS youth groups are also distributing warm clothes in vulnerable areas of Dhaka over the last few days, said a press release.
