Muggers shoot man for Tk 3 lakh
Muggers shot a sales representative of the mobile money transfer service provider bKash and snatched Tk 3.2 lakh in the capital’s Badda area this afternoon.
The victim, Faisal Ahmed, 28, has been undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
Faisal, an employee of bKash distributor Baridhara Globe Limited, was collecting money from bKash agents in the area when two youths confronted him and tried to snatch away the bag he was carrying.
As Faisal tried to resist, the muggers shot him in his left leg and fled the scene with the bag, said officer-in-charge of Badda Police Station.
Several bKash agents and sales persons have been shot and mugged at different parts of the country in recent weeks.
Muggers looted Tk 14 lakh after shooting two agents of bKash, in Noakhali Sadar on June 20, while a couple of bKash agents were stabbed and robbed of over Tk 3 lakh in Jhenidah.
