U-19 Tigers beat South Africa U-19 by 8 wickets

Bangladesh Under 19 team defeated South Africa Under 19 team by 8 wickets in the First Youth ODI at Kingsmead in Durban today, leading the 7-match series 1-0.

South Africa scored 184 runs in 50 overs losing 9 wickets after Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first.

PWA Mulder was the top scorer with 62 runs for South Africa. Bangladesh bowler Abdul Halim picked up three wickets in 7 overs giving away only 22 runs.

Chasing 185 runs to win, Bangladesh U-19 team rode on 135-run opening stand between Joyraz Sheik and Pinak Ghosh to reach the target with eight wickets in hand and 5.2 overs to spare.

Both Pinak and Joyraz struck fifties for the Under 19 Tigers.

Pinak Ghosh was adjudged as the Player of the match.

The next match of the series is scheduled to be held on the same venue on July 7 at 07:00 GMT.
