5 DU students suspended over ‘militant link’
The Dhaka University authorities have suspended five of its students for distributing leaflets and CDs of the banned militant outfit Hizb-ut Tahrir on the campus.
The suspended are – MBA (management) students Nur-e-Alam Md Sihab Uddin and Md Sayedee Hasan Sajib, MBA (accounting and information systems) student Tarikul Islam, BBA students Nakib Farhan and Md Alamgir Hossain.
The five were found distributing leaflets and CDs, campaigning for the militant outfit in different rooms of the business faculty building, according to a university press release issued this afternoon.
The release added that the university administration identified them through verifying footage of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and then took punitive action again the accused.
