3 ‘robbers’ beaten dead in Barisal

Three suspected robbers were beaten to death by a mob in Hizla upazila of Barisal early today.

The deceased Hanif Sardar, 25, Md Harun Bepari, 23, Miraj Mollah, 22, were the members of a robber group named 'Yusuf Bahini', our Barisal correspondent reports quoting Golam Sarwar, officer-in-charge (OC) of Hizla Police Station.

A group of robbers were taking preparation to rob a house at Baherchar village around 2:30am. Sensing their presence, locals chased the group and caught three of them, the OC said.

Later, the angry mob beat them to death, he added.

A case has been filed with the police station in this connection.
