Acting on tip-off, members of the elite force conducted a drive 10 nautical miles into the Bay and seized the huge cache of contraband tablets, said Major HM Mohiuddin, in-charge of Rab-7 Cox's Bazar camp.
A gang was smuggling the contraband tablets in huge numbers from Myanmar to Chittagong using fishing trawlers on the sea route for long, he said.
On information, the law enforcers initiated the drive. The trawler, carrying the tablets to port city, was also seized.
A case was lodged with Cox's Bazar Sadar Police Station by Rab members after the detainees were handed over to the police.
