Fakhrul going abroad tonight ‘for treatment’
Kept behind bars for a long time, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will fly tonight “for better treatment in Singapore.”
He will depart Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport via a Singapore Airlines flight around 11:54pm, an insider in the party told The Daily Star.
Fakhrul will be admitted at the National University Hospital as per suggestion, Syrul Kabir Khan a staff of BNP chairperson’s media wing told The Daily Star.
Earlier, Fakhrul told journalist that he has been suffering from throat problem and he lost around 10 to 12 kilogrammes of weight.
The BNP leader was detained from the Jatiya Press Club on January 6, this year and later, was shown arrested in seven cases.
Later, on July 14, Fakhrul was released on bail from prison cell of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, after over six months of his arrest.
