Jamalpur AL man stabbed dead

An Awami League activist was stabbed to death in Islampur upazila of Jamalpur on the second day of the opposition-sponsored 60-hour hartal (shutdown) today.
Police confirmed the death of Shahajada, 40, son of Jobed Ali of Rambhadra village in the upazila, reports our Jamalpur correspondent.
There has been a long standing conflict between Sarkar and Dhali families over land dispute, said Md Nazrul Islam, superintendent of police in Jamalpur.
Supporters of Dhali family attacked Shahajada, who belongs to Sarkar family, with sharp weapons when he went to Rambhadra Bazaar around 8:00am, the SP said.
