Expressing doubt over holding a free and fair election, Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad today said it would not be possible for his party to take part in the 10th parliamentary elections.

"Today, there is no such environment in the country for holding free, fair and credible elections," Ershad alleged at a views-exchange meeting with nomination seekers at a restaurant in capital's Gulshan.

He also expressed his doubt that whether the voters will be able to go to the polling centres to cast their votes.

"Jatiya Party will fight in the 299 parliamentary constituencies but nobody will cast their vote without my permission," he warned his party men.
