Actress Diti laid to rest
Famed Bangladeshi actress Parveen Sultana Diti was laid to rest in Sonargaon of Narayanganj next to her parents in a family graveyard this afternoon.
Her namaz-e-janaza was held after Zohr prayer at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) in Dhaka this morning, reports our correspondent.
Relatives, colleagues and well wishers from various oragnisation including the Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Nur came to pay their respects.
Her janaza was also attended by her co-actors Alamgir, Rubel, Omar Sunny, Champa, Ahmed Sharif, Mizu Ahmed, Zahid Hossain Shovon, Ajmeri Badhon, Afsana Ara Bindu, Khaleda Akter Kolpona, Nasrin, Sabrina Nisha, Munia, director Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, SA Haque Alik, Idrish Haider, Shah Alam Kiron, Delwar Jahan Jhontu and producer Khorshed Alam Khosru among others.
Diti, one of the most recognisable faces of Bangladeshi cinema, passed away at the capital's United Hospital yesterday afternoon, after her long battle with cancer.
