Post-poll violence: Injured Bogra Jubo League man dies

A Jubo League activist died at a hospital today, a day after he sustained injuries in a clash between supporters of victorious and defeated candidates in the union parishad elections in Sonatola upazila of Bogra yesterday.

Liton Mia, 30, son of Zinnat Ali of Pathanpara village in Sonatola upazila, died at Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital (ZMCH), reports our Bogra correspondent.

The body was sent to ZMCH morgue for autopsy, said Abdul Mottalleb, officer-in-charge of Sonatola Police Station.

On Saturday morning, at least 40 people were injured as a clash lashed out between supporters of the newly elected member Abdus Samad and defeated member candidate Md Selim after the results of the second phase UP election, held on Thursday, were announced.
